Lamellar Armour for heavy infantry of the Jurchen-Jin Dynasty adopts black‑quenching and metal‑forging techniques and is forged from refined iron. The scales overlap one another and are double‑laced with leather thongs to cushion blows from blunt‑force weapons.The overlapped scales are forged to 1.3 mm, with a maximum thickness of 2.6 mm.

Complete with iron helmet, vambraces, body armour and pauldrons, it delivers full‑body coverage. Double‑layered reinforcement is applied on vulnerable body areas to withstand strikes from conventional cold weapons of the Song troops.
